Nick Mead, a tank restorer from Northamptonshire in the United Kingdom, hit the jackpot when he found out that his newly-acquired tank had five gold bullion bars hidden inside it.
Nick, who has in his possession 150 military vehicles, went on Ebay to search for any additional vehicles to add to his collection.
He was ecstatic when he found a Russian T54/69 tank used in the war in Iraq in the 90's.
After the tank was delivered to his farm, he decided to perform a check up to see how the tank held up.
Together with his good friend, Todd Marshall, they filmed themselves opening up the tank. It was crucial to capture footage in order to report anything suspicious to the authorities promptly and with sufficient evidence.
The two expected to find machinery and remnants of war, but they were shocked by the discovery that laid before their very eyes.
Inside the tank were five gold bars which weighed 12 pounds each. The gold bars have a market price of 2 Million Euros!
Now that is surely hitting the jackpot.
Unaware of what to do, since they knew that no buyer would purchase the gold without proper documentation and permits, they decided to call the authorities.
The police immediately collected the gold bars and placed them under investigation.
A few conclusions came about. One theory is that the gold bars were placed there by Iraqi rebels during the Gulf War to make sure that their wealth was hidden and protected.
Currently, the gold bars are in police custody and will remain there until its source is confirmed.
