Thousands of Filipinos mourn the tragic Nueva Ecija bus crash which took the lives of 32 passengers after their vehicle fell into a ravine. According to police reports, the bus lost its breaks while it was traveling the curvy roads of Carrangalan, Nueva Ecija last Tuesday, April 18.
The incident is indeed heartbreaking but fortunately, people still try to find some reason to remain thankful despite the tragic incident. A recent report from Kami revealed that a 5-month-old baby survived the incident sustaining only minor injuries.
The miracle baby was reportedly saved by a certain Ian Boy Fernandez while he was looking for his wife and child. He grabbed the baby with him when he jumped out of the bus.
Meanwhile, The Philippine Star named the baby as Jhon Melvin. He only suffered minor fracture in his right leg. His mother, Krisha Llamas died but his father Jhon Jhon Llamas is still in the Veterans Regional Hospital (VRH) in Nueva Ecija. They are expected to return to Aurora as soon as Jhon Jhon has fully recovered. As of this writing, it is still a puzzle for the medical experts in the hospital how Jhon Melvin was able to survive the fatal incident.
Jhon Melvin is just one of the lucky children who survived the bus crash. On a separate report made by ABS-CBN, two siblings whose ages are 2 years old and 8-months-old also survived. They were saved by their mother and aunt.
The incident is still under investigation.
