There are a lot of different crimes that Filipinos residing in the country are facing. There’s the popular drug-related crimes, theft, murder, and rape.  

No one knows who the next victim will be which is why authorities are urging everyone to be vigilant, especially women who mostly fall victim to these heinous acts. 

Residents in Zamboanga City fear for their safety as the number of murdered and missing women have been on the rise these past few months. 

One of the latest victims of the alleged crimes is 23-year-old Maria Clariz Faylona. The young woman was identified as a student of Zamboanga State College of Marine Science and Technology (ZSCMST) and was reported missing since April 2, 2017

After almost one week of searching, her lifeless and naked body was found in Barangay Pasonanca which is around 2 kilometers away from her hometown. According to reports, her face was unrecognizable due to the wounds and bruises she obtained from the unknown suspect.  

This January 4, another woman was reported missing. Erica Jean Rosal, a 20-year-old girl, was found dead after 2 days near Barangay Lunzuran. She was found with a rope tied around her neck and a cover on her mouth. Just like Faylona, Rosal she also went to the same school and was a member of a dance group in ZSCMST
