The Hinatuan Enchanted River located in Surigao del Sur is one of the premiere destinations in the Philippines. Locals and tourists who’ve been to this place have been captivated by the river’s crystal clear deep blue waters.
Ever since the river became a trendy vacation spot, many people have wanted to go there to enjoy its unspoiled beauty.
Unfortunately not everyone has the budget to go to Surigao Del Sur – located all the way in Mindanao.
But don’t worry! We’ve got an alternative spot where you can visit a river nearly as pristine and beautiful as the one found in Hinatuan.
The place is easy on the budget and provides a fantastic view of crystal blue waters, unspoiled forests and amazing rock formations!
Where can you find this lovely alternative to Hinatuan? It’s near Manila!
The place is called the Bukal Falls in Laguna, hidden on the foot of Mt. Banahaw.
Travel blogger/CPA Colleen Vidal shared photos of her adventures in Bukal Falls on social media. She showed off the splendor of Bukal Falls with her loved ones, highlighting the area’s clean waters and lovely natural setting.
She also took a photo at the Majayjay Church which you can visit while you’re there!
Also known as the San Gregorio Magno Parish Church, the Majayjay Church is one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in the Philippines! The church is considered a “Level 1” National Cultural Treasure.
If so then here are easy steps on how you can go to this wonderful place as well.
Here's how to get there:
- Take a bus from Cubao/Buendia to Sta Cruz: P140
- Drop off at Pagsawitan
- Take a jeepney bound for Majayjay: P23
- Drop off at Barangay Bukal
- Registration fee: P20
- Tour Guide: P300 (P60 each for a group of 5)
- Take a side trip to Majayjay Church somewhere along Majayjay Proper
For just under P900 you can have a worthwhile weekend vacation to beautiful clear waters and a national heritage site!
Remember dear readers: you’re responsible for preserving the beauty and cleanliness of these vacation spots. Don’t pollute and have fun without damaging the environment!
