February 14 was a special day for engineer Reynold Agustin, but not because it was Valentine’s Day.
He got lucky because the bag he left inside a taxi, containing items amounting to around P300,000, was returned to him by cab driver Warlito Siar in Bacolod .
In a report by ABS-CBN News, Agustin revealed that he took a cab to a massage parlor to relax before headed to a meeting.
He realized that he’d left one of his bags inside the taxi, containing a watch, some jewelry, a mobile phone, and money.
Afterwards, Agustin went to the nearest police station to seek help in finding his misplaced belongings. He was able to relay the taxi's plate number to the police.
However, after more than 2 hours of waiting and nothing to show for his efforts, Agustin eventually returned to the spa.
He was in for a nice surprise when he returned.
Siar had been waiting for him at the spa the whole time he was away.
The cab driver then returned the bag full of valuables without ever opening or checking inside for its contents.
The honest driver admitted that his wife suffered a stroke so he needed all the money that he could earn.
Despite his hardships, not once was Siar tempted to take the money and he even admitted that it felt great to help others.
We salute you Mr. Siar. You’re the true example of a proud Pinoy.
