This Baby Has A Life-Threatening Disease But What Her Nanny Did Will Surely Make You Cry!

A 22-year-old college student from New Jersey is being lauded by many netizens after she donated a part of her liver to save a toddler she'd been babysitting

Kiersten Miles is being recognized all over the world after deciding to save Natalia Rosko, the toddler she often babysat, who was diagnosed with biliary atresia.

Biliary Atresia is a rare condition wherein the liver is not capable of draining the bile to intestines. If not treated immediately, it can lead to more serious complications such as acute liver failure or worse, death. The only way to go about it is through a transplant.

Miles had been taking care of Rosko since June of last year and made the voluntary donation just three weeks after meeting her.

Despite the risks the surgery carries, Miles didn't hesitate to go under the knife in order to save the child's life. The surgery occurred in January.

“She was 9 months old when I started watching her. She’s so helpless. She can’t tell anyone what’s wrong with her. She can’t spread the word and ask for help. Especially for a baby who can’t really ask for help, it didn’t seem like that much of a sacrifice, because I’d be saving a life.” she said in an interview.

Mrs. Rosko couldn't find the words to express her profound gratitude to Miles. She could only say, "She is a true angel on earth. What a selfless human being at 22 years old,"

“If you saw her today you would never know she had a transplant,” she added, referring to her daughter, Natalia.

Despite the overwhelming praises she is receiving from netizens and everyone else who heard the story, Miles remains humble about what she did and said: “I am getting a lot more attention from this than I ever expected. But I think it’s really important to spread the word about living donations and organ donation in general,”
