Maxine Medina was initially a commercial print ad model before representing the Philippines in the 65th Miss Universe pageant held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on January 30.
Her younger sister, Ferica Medina, is an ambassador for SkinStation, and it seems like she is about to follow in the footsteps of her older sister.
ABS-CBN News reported that Ferica has expressed her willingness to join the Binibining Pilipinas pageant and to represent the country internationally. She appeared on 'Umagang Kay Ganda' on Wednesday, where she claimed that she was not closing the doors on competing in beauty pageants.
However, Ferica also revealed that she has not made any final decisions yet, saying “I’m open about it pero let’s see. Hindi ko naman po gustong gusto. Open lang po. I’m not decided pa."
Marife, Maxine and Ferica's mother, expressed her support for her younger daughter. “Kung ano ang gusto nila, nandoon naman ako, naka-support ako." Marife said.
Meanwhile, their family is focused on celebrating Maxine's victory as one of the Top 6 candidates in the recently concluded Miss Universe pageant. Ferica is aware of how the Filipino people have been bashing and heavily criticizing her sister. She said that people should just look at the brighter side of things.
“Ang maganda po sa nangyari dito, na-maintain natin, ng Pilipinas 'yung placement natin na lagi tayong part ng top for the past seven years. Ibig sabihin talagang magagaling pa rin ang mga Pilipino. Mahirap talaga mag back-to-back." She claimed.
