Julia Montes is touted as ABS-CBN's 'Drama Princess' because of her excellent acting skills in melodramatic television shows and mature roles that often feature her as a wife or as someone else's mother.

After her fellow contemporary actress Kathryn Bernardo went on to have a love team duo with teen idol Daniel Padilla, Julia continued to shine on her own, appearing in roles that Kathryn herself wouldn't do. A few of these is being Paulo Avelino's wife in 'Walang Hanggan,' where she was able to show how much she has improved as a Star Magic actress.

This was the series that earned her the famous 'Drama Princess' title. It was validated during the 44th Box Office Entertainment Awards. Julia Montes followed it up when she appeared in the Star Cinema movie 'A Moment in Time' alongside Coco Martin, whom she was being paired with. She received her first ever nomination from FAMAS as the Best Actress.

Despite these successes, Julia does not have a perfect family. Her German father left her when she was still a baby and it was only her deaf mother and grandmother who were able to raise her.

The actress went through a lot of struggles with her grandmother when she was first marking her career in showbiz through modeling agencies and attending various auditions.

She recalled that she did all of these because she wanted her family, particularly her younger siblings, to have a good life and be able to go to school. Fast forward to 2016 and Julia still didn't have a proper relationship with her father.

In ABS-CBN News' report, Julia's father only apologized for leaving them last December 2016. In an episode of 'Tonight With Boy Abunda,' Julia said that Martin Schnittka, her father, had finally reached out to her after an overdue time.

But the actress appeared again in 'Magandang Buhay,' where her father left her a message that made not just Julia cry, but the hosts of the show as well--namely Melai Cantiveros, Jolina Magdangal, and Karla Estrada. Karla introduced him by saying, "Siyempre 'di magpapahuli ang iyong papa."

Julia couldn't help but feel touched and warm inside.
