The family of the female call center agent who was robbed and brutally murdered in Mandaluyong City wants nothing less than death penalty for the suspects.
24-year-old Eleanor Gonzalez was a breadwinner and a qualitative assurance analyst in a BPO company based in Makati. She died in Mandaluyong City Medical Center after being shot in the forehead by unknown assailants at around 4:50 AM along Guadalupe Bridge. She was on her way to the office.
“Eleanor was a very kind daughter. She never answers back. She had big dreams for us. She wanted to save up to give us a house, and send her youngest sibling to school,” her mother said in an interview with Inquirer.
According to her, Eleanor's shift actually starts at 7:00 am but she always reported for work at 5:00 am to be able send more money back home. She supported her entire family in Zamboanga City, including her father who was incapacitated after a car accident in Manila.
Her daughter's cellphone was broken and was using a friend's phone when the incident happened. Her mother said Eleanor may have instinctively tried to protect it because it wasn't hers.
Police Senior Insp. Jose Villarta, Mandaluyong Police Criminal Investigation chief confirmed this possibility as they found a piece of the strap of her bag on the crime scene.
Before the fateful incident, Eleanor sent her mother a message showing how much she cared for her family.
“Please take care of yourselves, mother. Please make sure you and papa are safe because I am far away. Don’t worry, I will send you money on Friday. Wait for me. Take care.”
The most painful part of it all is that they can't see their daughter's remains immediately as they have no money to go to Manila. They could only grieve and wait until her body is shipped to Zamboanga this Thursday.
The suspects remain at large and unidentified because the CCTV camera in the area failed to capture the actual incident.CLICK PAGE 2 TO WATCH THE VIDEO
