Angeline Quinto on Maxine Medina: 'Ang ganda din nito. Siguro bobo 'to.'

Did singer-actress Angeline Quinto really say, "Ang ganda din nito. Siguro bobo to,” when referring to Miss Philippines Maxine Medina?

Well…yes-and-no according to this hilarious viral video.

The viral video is actually a scene from Star Cinema’s 2014 comedy film 'Beauty in a Bottle', starring Angeline alongside Angelica Panganiban and Assunta de Rossi.

Apparently, Angeline’s comments towards Maxine were part of a scene in the movie made 3 years before Miss Philippines' appearance at the 65th Miss Universe. In this scene, Angeline’s character ‘Judith’ is having lunch with Pocholo, played by Tom Rodriguez, and his family.

Angeline’s character is apparently very insecure about sharing the table with the other beauties, one of whom is 'Peaches' portrayed by none other than Maxine Medina. Judith thinks that Peaches is very beautiful - but judges her, saying she's probably stupid. As it turns out Peaches was actually a lawyer, having passed the Bar exams with a ranking of Top 6!

It gets even more awkward for Judith from that point onward when Pocholo's mother, Donya Charito - portrayed by Nanette Inventor - asks her to sing right in front of the family!

The short almost 4-minute-long clip was uploaded by netizen Oxford Teehankee on Facebook. As of this writing, the video clip has garnered 4,500 reactions and over 1,900 shares.

Netizens were delighted to watch the funny clip and Maxine's acting chops.

Some netizens picked up on the joke right away.

Mc Orence wrote: “Pati ba naman sa Movie judgmental sila kay Maxine. Hahahaha”

Other netizens noticed a surprising coincidence when it was revealed that Maxine's character, Peaches, made it to the Top 6 in the Bar exams. Maxine, of course, was in the Top 6 at the 2016 Miss Universe pageant.
