Xia Vigor, the young child star who recently received international attention due to her Taylor Swift impersonation in "Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids," once again made waves online when her father revealed in an interview that a Hollywood director is interested in letting her play Shirley Temple, one of America's most famous child stars in the 30s.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, Xia’s father, Alan Vigor, said that a Hollywood director contacted them and said that he wants to meet with Xia personally. According to the director, "I've been waiting all my life for the next Shirley Temple and I've finally found her."
Alan said that he couldn't reveal the director yet, as the project is still being kept a secret. He did reveal that the director was attempting to persuade Xia's mother, Christy Bernardo, to consider the offer. Alan also offered his reaction to British journalist Piers Morgan’s statement that his daughter is being "sexualized."
"He's wrong," Alan said. "We know the bigger picture over here so we don't worry about Piers Morgan. People may say she's on TV and I'm exploiting her but she does many things people don't see. At Christmas, we visited a poor village and she gave her toys away to the children there."
Xia is a Filipino-British child actress who had her roots in being a TV host for "Xia and Kuys," a segment for the noontime variety show "It's Showtime." She co-hosted with Vhong Navarro and Billy Crawford. She was also the grand winner of the "Mini Me 2" segment where she performed as a young Selena Gomez.
Xia is currently appearing in the daytime family drama "Langit Lupa" as Princess Chavez, one of the series' protagonists.
