Who would have expected such an unassuming face could be behind such horrific acts such as the [email protected], torture and murd*r of young children?
At first glance, no one would have suspected 23-year-old Liezyl Margallo of being a woman wanted by authorities for her role in committing some of the most gruesome crimes against children the world has ever seen.
On January 24, 2017, Margallo, who has previously eluded authorities several times, was finally arrested in Malapascua Island off the mainland northern Cebu town of Daanbantayan. Sources say she was “nonchalantly strolling along the shoreline of the famed Malapascua Island off the mainland northern Cebu town of Daanbantayan” when she was found and arrested by the police.
Margallo is the live-in partner and supposed accomplice of Australian national Peter Gerard Scully, who was arrested by the NBI in Malaybalay, Bukidnon in February 2015 for child pornography.
The 54-year-old Scully fled to the Philippines from Melbourne, Australia and used Margallo as his “talent scout”. Margallo would lure street children by promising them or their parents that she would take care of them. Once the children were in her clutches, she forced them to perform sexual acts on camera, oftentimes torturing them, with one of them even resulting in death.
“They were promised of a good future. But the girl eventually became a slave, treated like a dog, and videotaped while being tortured. In fact, a bolo was inserted into the child’s butt,” according to Atty. Janet Francisco, head of the Manila-based NBI Anti-Human Trafficking Division (AHTRAD)
These gruesome live stream videos sold for about $10,000 – part of a lucrative black market industry that attracts patrons from Brazil, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Police identified one of the videos as "the worst" of them all – the one called "Destruction of Daisy".

The aforementioned video features an 18-month old girl known as Daisy. She was hung upside down with her legs spread apart. The toddler screamed in pain as an older girl wearing a mask, later identified as Margallo herself, poured hot wax on her private parts while whipping her mercilessly with a belt.
"Daisy" died due to the severe injuries inflicted on her by Margallo and Scully. Daisy was only one of the many children who suffered and died in the hands of Margallo and Scully. Fortunately, eight of the remaining children featured in the disturbing videos were eventually rescued by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
“It was too much. There are really just some people who are not afraid of God. Children were treated like dolls. They were tortured and exposed to too much pain. Anyone who do [sic] that is not normal. I could not help but cry when I saw the video,” Francisco said.
Daisy’s horrendous video spread across the deep web like wildfire and was eventually discovered by members of Interpol, the international organization that enables police cooperation between multiple countries.
According to NBI-7 Assistant Director Dominador Cimafranca, a Filipino Interpol member noticed that one of the children in the videos cried out in pain by saying “agay” – a Visayan word meaning ‘ouch’ – which enabled them to focus their search to the Philippines, particularly in Visayas and Mindanao.
After Scully’s arrest, Interpol pooled their efforts into finding Margallo who was able to elude capture by constantly moving from place to place. The NBI finally managed to track her down with assistance from the Australian Federal Police.

Following her arrest, Margallo has already admitted to the allegations and will be charged with violations of Republic Act 9995 (the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009); Republic Act 9610 (the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act); and Republic Act 9208 (the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003).
“If I were to describe her (Margallo), I would call her a ‘savage girl’ for what she has done to the kids. I think that description fits her,” Cimafranca stated.
Margallo is not eligible for bail due to the heinous nature of her crimes.
Scully, the mastermind behind these heinous crimes is apparently a parent himself. The Australian is the father of two children. One can only wonder how a parent could ever commit such horrific acts on children. He is also disturbingly remorseless about his horrendous acts.
“If I get sentenced, I get sentenced. That is something out of my control… There is nothing I can do about it, so why worry about it?” Scully said during an interview with Tara Brown on the investigative news program 60 Minutes. Scully is currently incarcerated in Cagayan de Oro.
