Former Pampanga 2nd District and Ang Galing Pinoy Representative Juan Miguel 'Mikey' Arroyo acquired severe head injury in a car accident in San Fernando, Pampanga which took the life of a Central Luzon policeman, Rappler reported.
Mikey, who is the son of former president Gloria Macapagl Arroyo, Edward Mendoza Montervergin and driver John Macaraig were hurt as the Toyota Hilux carrying them crashed with the Honda Civic being maneuvered by Police Officer 2 Alexander Villamin.
According to the police, the accident happened at exactly 3:30 pm along Maliwalu village, on the eastern side of the megadike.
As per the report of Inquirer.net, Macaraig was driving Arroyo to Porac town when they crashed to Villamin's vehicle who was travelling the opposite lane. There is still no confirmation as to who among them had experienced errors which lead to the accident.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN News reported that Arroyo, together with Montervergin and Macaraig was immediately rushed to the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Hospital. However, they were transferred to St. Luke's Hospital in Manila.
Reports showed that Arroyo was seating in the passenger's seat when the car crashed. The politician acquired gash in his head. On the other hand, PO2 Villamin who was assigned to the Police Regional Public Safety Battalion died on the spot. His rescuers experienced diffculty in saving his trapped body inside his Honda Civic.
Investigations about the accident are still ongoing and the media is still waiting for the updates.
