Fans of the former first sister Kris Aquino might be a bit disappointed as PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) announced that she might not be seen on GMA this early 2017.
Last September, Kris formally announced her departure from the ABS-CBN network through an Instagram post.
While presenting an exclusive preview of the upcoming Kapuso shows this year, Senior Vice President for Entertainment TV Lilybeth G. Rasonable admitted that even she doesn't know if Kris will have a program on the network.
"Yan ang hindi ko pa alam," she said during the press conference, held early January 16 at the network's office.
"Wala talaga kaming alam kasi iba ang nagma-manage sa kanya. Wala pa kaming naririnig na ganyan, somehow."
In 2016, there were controversies claiming that the Queen of all Media was not welcome at the Kapuso network.
Various reports claimed that Kris was set for her new talkshow at the network to be produced by APT Entertainment; however for undisclosed reasons, the show did not progress.
"It is not true that she is not welcome. I've also read the other write-ups about it tapos it was very vague naman who or which group they were referring to. It's just that the readers and people in social media were guessing it was the executive of GMA," the senior VP said.
"Pero sa totoo lang, never did we talk about it, never did we ever say na di siya welcome. In fact, we even guested her in Yan ang Morning. If she was not welcome, she would not be guested in the first place," she further clarified.
On June 29, 2016, Kris guested at Marian Rivera's talkshow. Although other rumors suggested that the star would soon replace Marian's talk show as it ended on August 2016.
However, Rasonable quickly squashed this rumor.
"No, definitely not that's not true at all. That's far from true. When the Marian show ended, wala pa namang Kris Aquino, nasa ABS-CBN pa siya. She was still very much in ABS when the show ended."
