Losing weight is hard. People need to be motivated before they can even start moving their bodies.
You wouldn't think that actress-model-artist Solenn Heussaff and her hunky chef brother Erwan Heussaff were ever fat.
But they were! As it turns out, Solenn and Erwan Heussaff used to be 'fat kids.'
Solenn started gaining weight at eight years old. Once she ate an apple a day for one whole month at 14 years old.
Erwan, on the other hand, was overweight until he was 20 years old, weighing 240 pounds at his heaviest.
Clearly, both siblings have come a long way from their chubbier years.
Last January 21 the siblings said they consider themselves "regular people" and not athletes. This was during the Team Solenn versus Team Erwan #NutriUpYourGame Challenge held at the Glorietta Activity Center, Makati.
In an interview with a popular news site, Solenn said: “We were big when we were small and it wasn’t an easy journey, the two of us."
“But if we did it, anyone else can do it din. So it’s nice to be an inspiration.”
Erwan then chimed in, “It feels great to have people sort of come up to you and say, ‘You know, you pushed me to work out. I’m in the gym now because of you. I lost weight. So it’s really great.”
The chef/restaurateur then stressed that hard work was key. Erwan said that his choice of workout is "sprinting, swimming, and CrossFit because it moves everything.”
He revealed his diet consisted of eating "everything as naturally as possible.”
Solenn’s preferred workout consists of yoga and boxing. Like her brother, she chooses to eat healthier foods and never eats anything fried.
Solenn even gave the crowd some sound advice. “You should always say goodbye to that mentality of ‘I’ll start tomorrow, start next month.’
"No, you start on the day because you’re always going to give yourself an excuse.
"So if you want to get fit, now’s the time.”
Erwan agreed with his sister, adding “Just start.”
“You will always have something else to do. You will always be busy. You will always be making excuses.”
"So one day if you tell yourself, ‘Okay, today I’m going to start working out every day.”
“It’s as simple as that.”
“Once you start moving, you’ll never go back to being non-active.”
