Three British Airways passengers were treated to a big surprise, as a once-in-a-lifetime experience presented itself to them when they were the only passengers in the huge aircraft’s flight.
Lawrie-Lin Waller, 33, said she and her friends were upgraded to business class, treated to bottles of champagne, and posed for selfies with the captain.
On their trip from Gibraltar to the London Heathrow Airport on 17 December her friends Laura Stevens, 34, and Sarah Hunt, 35, enjoyed three-course meals.
Like rock stars, they were given first-class treatment and super deluxe service. Ms Waller said: "We're never going to experience anything like that again."
The three friends were a little late for their flight back to their homes, as the early passengers were all tucked in to an earlier flight, leaving them waiting for another one.
They said they felt like legitimate A-listers as the flight attendants ushered them into the business suite, even if they just paid 80 Euro for the economy class.
Ms Stevens and Ms Walker, who are television producers, and Ms Hunt, a lawyer, were all given unlimited champagne throughout the whole flight.
The captain of the aircraft even joked about how light the take-off was, and that he never flew a passenger plane with only 3 passengers.
Laura shared about one announcement made by the pilots, saying, “Cabin crew warned us that the fog meant it could take a while to land but we were having such a fantastic time we told them to take their time – we wanted the flight to go on forever.”
The three ladies were all thankful to British Airways for such a surreal experience and an early Christmas gift.
