It seems like the rift between President Duterte's camp and the media is still far from being resolved after Senator Alan Peter Cayetano slammed a news article published by ABS-CBN News.
Sen. Cayetano was Duterte's running mate and has been very vocal in defending the President ever since he assumed office. The article he slammed was titled 'To believe, or not to believe, President Duterte'. He posted a link to the article on his Facebook page and claimed that the network was biased.
He noted how the article was published at the same time the President was representing the country abroad. He added that the timing coincides with VP Robredo's call for unity in the opposition and calls from Loida Nicholas-Lewis asking for the President to resign.
“It's an international practice not to hit the President when he is representing the Country abroad, since hitting him means hitting the Country he represents." He claims.
He ended the post with a rather striking statement, mocking the article's title by saying: “So may I respectfully ask... When to believe and not to believe ABS-CBN?"
