He Was Mocked For Staring Longingly At Jewelry, But How The Online Community Treated Him Will Make You Proud


"This man deserves to only look at rubbish" says one netizen who posted a photo on Instagram of a man staring at jewelry.

The photo of the Bangladeshi cleaner working in Saudi Arabia quickly became popular in the online community, urging one Twitter user named Abdullah Al-Qahtani to find ways to reach him.

"I received tons of phone calls and messages in response to my tweet. Some were really helpful, while others were claiming that they were the cleaner," said Al-Qahtani to CNN.

Fortunately after 6,000 retweets and over three hours of searching, the man was found.
The online community quickly redeemed itself as an overwhelming outpour of not only sympathy and support, but also extravagant gifts, was received by the cleaner.

58-year-old Nazer al-Islam Abdul Karim is a Bangladeshi national who works in Saudi Arabia as a cleaner. According to Al-Qahtani, people willingly gave jewelry, gold chains, cash, and even iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 to the man.

An unnamed company has also vowed to give the cleaner jars of honey, bags of rice and an air ticket to Bangladesh.

Photos of the man showing that he received the gifts surfaced on social media.
