Throughout the years, more and more Kapuso stars come and go through the network.
GMA-7 and ABS-CBN have been rivals since time immemorial. Celebrities from both networks have been jumping the ship for a really long time.
These stars below are Kapuso-turned-Kapamilya showbiz icons who have became even more popular with their transfer:
1. Angel Locsin
She had a 5-year contract with GMA-7 and within that time she already starred in big-budget projects like "Mulawin" and "Darna".
Her contract expired last 2007 and Locsin confirmed her transfer to ABS-CBN. Her manager Becky Aguila said that Locsin was overworked and not properly compensated. This allegation was immediately denied by GMA-7.
Many critics said that she was ungrateful of her former network.
Locsin renewed her ties with ABS-CBN last 2012 for a 3-year contract.
2. Isabelle Daza
Former Kapuso Isabelle Daza was one of the hosts in GMA-7's noontime show "Eat Bulaga" and the lifestyle magazine program "Taste Buddies."
She later transferred to ABS-CBN last 2014 and had her first projects as a Kapamilya in the fantaserye "Nathaniel."
3. Iza Calzado
Iza Calzado stayed a Kapuso for 10 years since 2001.
She starred in several hit drama series, including "Te Amo, Maging Sino Ka Man," "Encantadia," "Impostora," "All About Eve" and "Beauty Queen."
Calzado switched to Kapamilya last 2012. She had lead roles in two primetime series ("Hawak Kamay," "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan") and two movies ("Starting Over Again" and "Maria Leonora Teresa"). She also hosted the local edition of "The Biggest Loser."

4. Jake Cuenca
Jake Cuenca started out in GMA-7 as a teen actor in 2004. He stayed a Kapuso for 3 years and became a heartthrob during various series like "Encantadia" and "Majika."
His career became brighter when he transferred to ABS-CBN. He scored leading male lead in drama series such as "Maria Mercedes," "Rubi," "Palos", "Ikaw Lamang," and "Tayong Dalawa".
5. Cristine Reyes
Cristine Reyes entered the show business through GMA-7's talent search "StarStruck," where she finished as a finalist. Later on, she starred in various shows as a supporting actress.
Some of it her GMA projects include "Hanggang Kailan," "Captain Barbell" and "Super Twins."
She transferred to ABS-CBN in 2008 and became a main star in the following top-billed several projects, including "Eva Fonda," "Kristine" and "Reputasyon."
Reyes also took part in the Star Cinema productions "No Other Woman," "The Reunion" and "My Brother's Romance."
6. Paulo Avelino
Like Cristine Reyes, he also blossomed from GMA-7's Starstruck talent search. He was a GMA-7 resident for five years until 2011.
Upon his transfer to ABS-CBN, Paulo Avelino already starred in major roles in the projects "Bridges of Love", "Honesto," "Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon" and "Kahit Konting Pagtingin."

7. JC de Vera
He starred in GMA-7's "Click" in 2003 and stayed a Kapuso for six years.
De Vera first transferred to TV5 but went to ABS-CBN in 2014.
Since then, he participated in hit series "The Legal Wife" and "Moon of Desire."
8. Toni Gonzaga
Toni was with GMA-7 for seven years until she decided to sign a contract with ABS-CBN. Like Isabelle Daza, she was also a co-host in the noontime show Eat Bulaga.
Ever since her transfer to Kapamilya in 2005, Toni had a great career as a host, actress, and singer.
She has been dubbed as the "Ultimate Multimedia Star," because of her many achievements such as releasing six albums under Star Records, starring in 11 Star Cinema films, and hosting various Kapamilya programs, notably "The Buzz," "Pinoy Big Brother" and "The Voice of the Philippines."
9. Maxene Magalona
She originally started as a Kapmilya in 1992's "Ang TV". Maxene also became a Kapuso for nine years until 2013.
When she came back to ABS-CBN, she has appeared in "Maalaala Mo Kaya," "It's Showtime", "Dream Dad", and the running show "Doble Kara".
Karylle, daughter of music veteran Zsa Zsa Padilla, was seen first in GMA-7's "SOP" and stayed for seven years. She also notably appeared in the "Encantadia" and "Etheria."
Karylle transferred to ABS-CBN in 2008. She is currently on the long-running noontime show "It's Showtime".
