Niel Maurillo, a 17-year-old boy from Cebu is first ever winner of the ABS-CBN's 'Pinoy Boyband Superstar', as announced on Saturday night.
Murillo got the highest number of scores from both the judges and text votes, after singing "Cold Water" by Major Lazer. With this final performance, Maurillo wowed judges Aga Muhlach and Yeng Constantino for his great improvement when it comes to his performances.
He took home P 1 Million cash prize and will be part of the boyband managed by Star Magic. Four more lucky winners will also receive 1 million pesos and a contract with the ABS-CBN's talent agency. Winners will be announced this Sunday to complete the boyband.
Grand finals performances were Joao Constancia, Mark Oblea and Ford Valencia who sang Enrique Iglesias' "Bailamos," and Tony Labrusca and Tristan Ramirez covering Bruno Mars' "Treasure."
Final voting will start this night for the remaining four slots of winners.
