Kapamilya actress Julia Montes recently left ABS-CBN’s talent arm Star Magic for Cornerstone Entertainment, a move that shocked the showbiz industry.
In an interview with the “The A-List”, a segment of Boy Abunda’s late evening show, she explained why.
Just last Friday, Julia Montes explained her actions as a move for herself. "Mayroon lang kailangan move na gawin," she said to the media.
“Kung ano mayroon ako ngayon, lahat iyon ay dahil sa mga taong nakasama ko, nag-guide sa akin, lahat ng tumulong sa akin from the very start. So walang nagbago doon,” she added.
Cornerstone Entertainment’s Erickson Raymundo was surprised as well when one of his assistants told him that Montes was looking to make an appointment with him.
After knowing her plans, he first consulted with the bosses of Star Magic such as Johnny Manahan and Mrs Mariolle Alberto.
Raymundo also explained that he too did not know any other reason for Julia to leave, but said that Julia is the breadwinner of her family so that this is maybe one of the reasons.
“Actually, bago ako nag-post na ‘Welcome Julia sa Cornerstone,’ after two weeks siya sa amin.
Julia Montes started her career at 9 years old with Star Magic, and has appeared in several ABS-CBN shows ever since.
Her most successful work to date would be the “Maria Clara” where she starred with Kathryn Bernardo.
