There might not be any winners announced yet, but Jodi Sta. Maria already won the hearts of the people when she graced the 44th Annual International Emmy Awards held at the Hilton Hotel in New York City.
Her long white gown made everyone's heads turn as she walked the red carpet. Jodi was styled by Patricia Coronado and the gown was created by renowned fashion designer Mark Bumgarner.
Jodi said her outfit for the event was inspired by her character in ABS-CBN's 2015 television hit "Pangako Sa 'Yo."
"Hindi naman everyday na nakakatisod tayo ng isang nomination from the Emmys. Maganda naman na maipresenta natin ng maayos ang sarili natin at siyempre pupunta ako doon na hindi lang naman sarili ko ang nire-represent ko, pati ang Philippines din." She said.
Sta. Maria was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in the international version of America's most prestigious television awards ceremony for her portrayal as Amor Powers in "Pangako Sa 'Yo."
She was in prestigious company, as her fellow nominees were:
The U.K.'s Judi Dench for Roald Dahl's Esio Trot, Brazil's Grazi Massafera for Verdades Secretas and Germany's Christiane Paul for Unterm Radar.
Another ABS-CBN hit telenovela, "Bridges of Love", starring Jericho Rosales, Paulo Avelino and Maja Salvador, was also nominated in the Telenovela category, going up against entries from Canada and Brazil.
The International Emmy Awards will be held on Nov. 22, 2016 GMT, and will be hosted by Alan Cumming.
