It seems that the Bureau of Customs is making it up for the new administration. Recently, they reported having confiscated a total of P1.173 worth of different kinds of drugs in line with President Duterte’s war against illegal drugs.
Neil Anthony Estrella, BOC acting spokesperson for enforcement and intelligence operations, shared that they conducted 8 operations and their confiscated drugs include P927 million worth of shabu obtained in 11 operations, P17.046 million worth of ecstasy obtained in four operations, and P227.768 million worth of cocaine.
According to him, their biggest operation happened last July 3 in Claveria, Cagayan where P900-million worth of shabu was confiscated.
“Commissioner (Nicanor) Faeldon stresses the Bureau will continue to support President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against illegal drugs by strictly guarding our seaports and airports,” he explained.
Furthermore, P775-million worth of counterfeit products were seized in Pasay City, Bulacan and Pangasinan last November.
“BOC will remain tough against smuggling. We will pursue them in the farthest border of the country,” Estrella added.
